Elk now in Carmel-by-the-Bay California

Nestled within the heart of the City of Carmel, California, lies an Elk stockist like no other. Steeped in rich history much like the town it belongs to, the Carmel Bay Company was founded in 1972 by the clever husband and wife duo Barney and Patty Scollan.
Located within the very quaint and historic Seven Arts Building on the intersection of Lincoln Street and Ocean Avenue, it was actually Patty’s grandfather Herbert Heron who designed and built this unique centre for the arts. Man of many talents, Herbert was an enormous arts enthusiast, avid Shakespearian, as well as the acting mayor of the town previously dubbed Carmel-by-the-Sea. During his time as mayor, he saw the city bloom into the cultural hub that it continues to be today.
Now, this fairytale cottage is the home to a range of carefully curated homewares, recycled furniture, books, fashion and accessories that have been sourced from independent makers all around the globe.
For over 40 years, Barney and Patty have maintained a keen sense of style. The collection amassed at the Bay Company has evolved from Danish antiques and poster art, through to a trend-setting luxury women’s boutique. You will find yourself spending a few hours gazing over their treasure trove.
A huge range of Elk leather goods, jewellery and apparel can now be found at Carmel Bay including key pieces from our Fall 15 range ‘Equinox’. To see the range in person or to place orders, pop downtown to the southwest corner of Lincoln Street and Ocean Avenue, or contact the team at Carmel’s on 831.624.3868
We are so thrilled to have become a chapter within the Carmel Bay Company’s story. For those lucky enough to be locals, or for those of you passing through this dreamy bayside city, we recommended that you pop by and say hello to the Scollan’s and have a peek at their ever-evolving store.
