Full-Time Digital Graphic Designer

Reporting To: Senior Marketing and Communications Manager

Responsibilities: includes but not exclusive to -

This is a full-time position located at ELK’s Head Office in Preston. As the Digital Graphic Designer, your daily creations will include EDMs, website and social media artwork alongside creative assets for our retail stores and wholesale accounts to help communicate our brand activities and seasonal messages.

You will need to work within our branding guidelines, but we will also welcome you to display your initiative and find new ways to enhance ELK’s digital communication through visual storytelling. Areas of responsibility will include the creation of graphic design for digital collateral, e-commerce, EDM’s, range releases, major events throughout the year and day-to-day consumer and retail communication requirements.

The key to making this role successful is digital graphic design expertise, speed, a can-do attitude, accuracy and attention to detail. You will need a flexible and creative approach to the role with a proactive and positive attitude.

This position works mainly with the ELK Marketing and Sales team. You will be one of two graphic designers at ELK. The other position is primarily concerned with looking after the requirements of the Fashion Design Department.

Responsibilities include (not exclusive to):
- In partnership with the Marketing / PR team and with direction from the Creative Director, utilise supplied photo shoot content to create the seasonal graphics.
- Manage your workflow with the Marketing and Content Producer to ensure that all required digital and printed assets meet required deadlines.
- Create graphic material for EDM’s and social channels and suggest UX design ideas to help drive engagement and click-through rates.
- Create editable PDF documents for ELK’s process requirements.
- Liaise with print suppliers and stay up to date with the latest sustainable product offerings and environmentally friendly printing techniques.
- Produce banners, window vinyls etc. and in-store merchandising materials as required for ELK’s retail store as well as wholesale accounts.
- Design advertisements for print and online as well as packaging and brand materials as required.
- Support where needed the Fashion Graphic Designer in executing the bi-annual collection catalogues and associated price lists etc. This will not be in your particular care however you may be required to assist or provide support.

Knowledge & Skills
- Experience in developing EDM layouts and templates and social media assets is essential.
- Excellent knowledge and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Ability to work well with feedback and changes in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interest and capabilities in the design and development of engaging digital user experiences through graphic content.
- A passion for digital graphic design with experience in developing digital graphic content and working with various social media and marketing tools.
- Knowledge of design fundamentals and principles.
- Demonstrable creative and design development skills.
- Well developed communication, time management and organisational skills.
- Grammatical accuracy and a strong attention to detail.
- Interest and knowledge of HTML and CSS is an advantage but not essential.
- Multimedia skill base and a willingness to learn and invest time into learning new and innovative digital graphic opportunities.
